Video That Helps Students Choose You

Since 2007, we’ve worked with schools, districts, and colleges across Florida on campus tours, student stories, and program films, shot on a bell schedule and cleared for every face on camera.

Turn Your Campus Into Your Best Recruiter

Are you tired of school videos that could be about any campus in the country? Do you struggle to find a production company that understands FERPA, opt-out lists, and what it actually takes to film during a normal school day?

We understand the challenges you face. Our team specializes in educational video production and will work with you every step of the way, so your classrooms, your faculty, and your student stories are captured in a way that shows families what your school is really like.

"I have been through enough vendor shoots to know what a disrupted school day looks like. This was not one! They worked the bell schedule, kept out of the hallways during transitions, and our principals asked when they were coming back."
Director of Communications, Orlando-Based High School

Admissions and Campus Tour Films

Families decide whether a school is worth a visit long before they book one, and a campus film is the closest thing to a tour that works at 10pm on a phone.

We shoot when the campus looks like itself, with students in the halls and classes in session, and we cut a long version for your admissions page alongside short versions for ads and open-house emails.

Student, Family, and Alumni Stories

The most persuasive person in your enrollment funnel is a current student who is glad to be there, and the second most persuasive is a parent who would choose you again.

We run these as real interviews instead of scripted reads, and we handle release lists, opt-outs, and guardian permissions before the first camera comes out of the case.

Academic Program and Course Videos

Every program you offer is competing with a similar program somewhere else, and a two-minute film showing the lab, the studio, or the shop floor answers the question a course catalog cannot.

We build these as a set, so one production block covers several programs and each department gets a film that matches the others in look and length.

Faculty and Staff Recruitment Videos

Hiring is now a marketing problem for most schools and districts, and a candidate weighing two offers will look for what it feels like to work at each one.

We film the people already doing the job and let them say why they stay, and we deliver cuts sized for your careers page, LinkedIn, and job fair screens.

Educational Types We Work With

From a family touring schools for a seven-year-old to a teacher deciding where to spend the next decade of her career, every stage of choosing a school has its own journey. We tell your story in all of them.

K-12 School Districts

Video built for a district asking voters to pass a referendum, where taxpayers with no children in school still decide what the schools get.

Private and Independent Schools

Video built for tuition that a family weighs against a free option down the road, where the tour has to earn the difference.

Colleges and Universities

Video built for the stretch between an acceptance letter and a deposit, where an admitted student is deciding among three campuses.

Charter Schools and School Choice Networks

Video built for enrollment season, where a parent who has never heard of your school decides whether to enter the lottery.

Trade Schools and Technical Colleges

Video built for the question every prospective student asks first, which is what job this program leads to and how soon it pays.

Online Course Creators and EdTech

Video built for courses people pay for and then have to finish, where the production quality keeps a learner in the seat through module six.

School Athletics and Performing Arts

Video built for the seasons families want to keep, where a highlight film doubles as the recruiting reel a coach sends out.

Aktion Productions FAQ

Common Questions from Schools

How much does educational video production cost?

Educational video production costs $2,000 to $10,000 per finished minute when a production company handles the project end to end, according to 2026 industry pricing guides. A two-minute admissions film therefore lands somewhere between $4,000 and $20,000, and what moves the number is the count of shoot days, the number of campuses involved, and how many students and staff appear on camera. Aktion scopes education work into three tiers, Foundation, Signature, and Studio, so the budget is approved before anyone shows up with a camera.

How do schools handle FERPA when filming students?

Schools may film and publish student images without individual written consent only when those images are designated as directory information under FERPA, and that designation requires annual notice to families along with a real window to opt out. Anything outside the designation needs written parental consent before a student’s face appears in a public-facing video. The practical consequence is that the opt-out list has to be current on shoot day and the crew has to know who is on it. Private schools that take no federal funding fall outside FERPA, and state law and their own release policies still apply. Aktion confirms the release list during the Plan phase and shoots around opted-out students instead of fixing it in the edit.

How long should a school video be?

A school video should run 60 to 90 seconds for social and recruitment ads, and two to three minutes for an admissions or program film that a family sits down to watch on purpose. Wyzowl’s 2026 survey found that 71% of people consider videos between 30 seconds and two minutes the most effective length. Campus tour films earn more room, because a family that has already requested information is a very different viewer from someone scrolling a feed.

Can you film during a normal school day without disrupting class?

Yes, and the whole production plan is built around it. Interviews get scheduled into planning periods, b-roll gets captured during passing time and lunch, and classroom filming happens with the teacher’s lesson plan in hand. Aktion works from a shot list approved by the principal, head of school, or department chair before arrival, which keeps the crew out of hallways during transitions and out of classrooms during instruction.
